OCTOBER EDIT | Highlights + Yarn Guide

I’m really starting to enjoy the process of gathering up my favourite pattern releases for the month.

Bringing together a mini collection of designers and their patterns that feature interesting silhouettes, styles, techniques and textures.

It’s such a thrill hunting for the right yarn that will not only satisfy gauge but will echo the designers original intent for the drape and texture of the fabric.

TUTKA PULLOVER

PATTERN NOTES: Andrea Mowry releases The Traveler Shell, a drop shoulder, open cardigan with big pockets making for an easy-to-slip-on layer that you’ll wear all year round. Two yarns are held together for this design, creating a lightweight fabric with lots of rich fluffy texture. Monts d'Arrée Vest

PATTERN NOTES: Pauline Fanguin releases the Monts d'Arrée Vest, a sleeveless vest with a shawl collar and side slits. Worked from the top down the vest incorporates lots of delicious texture with wrapped stitches and moss stitch patterning the feature. We love Cosy Comfort 8 Ply for this knit. PATTERN NOTES: Caitlin Hunter releases Autumn Alpine, a midweight sweater knit from the top down. It features a Scandinavian-inspired floral colorwork yoke with broken rib and contrast stitches finishing the neckline, hem and sleeve cuffs. PATTERN NOTES: Lindsay Degen releases Two Of Daisies Lil Scarflette, an adorable two-tone neckerchief with simple shaping and bold intarsia flower motive. Two yarns are held together for this design, creating a lightweight fabric with delicate fluffy texture. We’ve suggested Meia and Kid Seta held together to get this look. Olivia Bell Cardi

PATTERN NOTES: Norah Gaughan releases the Olivia Bell Cardi, a round-yoked cardigan with long bell sleeves and cropped body. Details include garter stitch stripes in four colours around the yoke and at the bottom of the sleeves. Short rows raise the back neck. We think this cardi will be worn again and again so we’re suggesting the hardwearing Country Naturals, a rustic blend of Australian wool and soft tweedy neps, milled right here in Australia.
