As textile makers we love the challenge of a new project - learning about new yarns and fibres, tackling new construction methods or perhaps just practicing a not so familiar technique.
With its irresistibly cute sailor collar and classic red on white colourwork detail, Junko Okamoto’s Child and Mam children’s sweater embodied all of these elements for us.
Having shared our experience knitting this project over on the Journal, we thought it would be fun to explore a few more colourways in BC Garn’s Bio Shetland.

3.25 mm (US 3) and 3.75 mm (US 5) circular needles.

FIBRE CONTENT: GOTS certified organic wool
NET WEIGHT: 50g (1.75oz) per skein
YARN WEIGHT EQUIVALENT: Light Fingering / 3 ply
APPROX. YARDAGE: 280m (306yd)
CONSTRUCTION: Worsted spun, 2 plies, light twist
ORIGIN: Dyed and milled in Turkey
